Push your boundaries
With Erasmus+ you go abroad, work together with young people from all over Europe and find out what you're capable of. In 2024 and 2025, young people from Jong Noord took part in more than twenty Erasmus+ projects, in Groningen and beyond.
What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. Its youth strand funds exchanges, training courses and projects where young people have a say in their own community. Travel, food and accommodation are usually covered, so taking part often costs you nothing.
Who is it for?
Youth exchanges are for young people aged 13 to 30. Training courses and study visits are for youth workers and volunteers. You don't need experience, and you don't need perfect English: you'll learn along the way.
Go on an exchange!
The exchanges page shows which projects are coming up. You apply through the form on the project's page. Questions? Email erasmus@jongnoord.nl.
What is non-formal education?
Non-formal education is learning outside school and work. You take part by choice, you learn in a group and there is a theme you work on together. There are no exams and no grades. You learn by doing: you join workshops, sometimes run them yourself and work with young people from other countries.
What do you learn from it?
Afterwards you receive a Youthpass, a European certificate for people who take part in Erasmus+ projects. In it you describe what you have learned, with the help of a leader, using the eight European key competences, such as multilingual competence and citizenship.
For parents and teachers
Jong Noord always sends an experienced leader and only works with youth organisations that can guarantee the safety of participants. You can read what a day looks like and how supervision works in the frequently asked questions.
Our Erasmus+ projects
